You Sad, Desperate Fuck.

If I were a straw, I'd be filing charges over all the grasping at my person that was going on.

Damn, that's getting into the "Joe The Plumber" playbook of desperation. I honestly thought that El-Vest would've had some sort of contingency plan in place for all of this.

Here's what I wonder: was this calculated and he actually thinks no one would call him on it, or did someone just tell him this happened and he went with it? To paraphrase Rex Murphy from last night (which I rarely do), Harper's either arrogant or stupid. The first one's never really been in question, but the last couple of weeks are making me wonder about the second one.

There was an editorial in the Globe and Mail (that I unfortunately can't find right now...) saying that Harper's desire to not just defeat, but to destroy, the opposition verges on the pathological, and that it represents a real blind spot in Harper's judgment.

"“They had to be photographed without it because a member of their coalition does not even believe in the country.”

Uh, is that like not believing in Santa Claus?

I never thought I'd be defending the BQ, but let's keep in mind that the Bloc isn't functionally a separatist party currently. They're more like the Reform Party in 1993 or so - a regional protest party, following the ideological and philosophical tradition of the region in question.

The Bloc didn't talk about separatism last election, the talked about defending the interests of Quebec. Reminds me of another politician saying "the west wants in".

Speaking of desperate, check the editorial in the globe suggesting that Harprer's current strategy may mean sacrificing Quebec.

Quebec, the only place where last election, there were enough seats for Harper to potentially get a majority?

Way to make sure the BQ is here to stay, eh?
